On Feb 14th 2007, I organised a romantic evening for valentines with my then amazing girlfriend who has since become my beautiful fiancee. I got a new suit, organised a limousine, scattered rose petals on the floor of the limo and told her we were just going for a drive and a drink. We turned up at East Perth Railway Station and went on a romatic train journey with candlelit dinner and romantic music. I proposed to my woman whilst the violin player played us a tune and to my delight she said yes and made me the happiest man alive. I love her so much and the evening ended in a Beautiful Hotel room with candles and rose petals and the happiest groom to be.

Jeremy decided one morning that he wanted to go for a scenic drive with myself and our 16 month old daughter, Alyssia. We were driving foro quite a while when he realised that we had gone around in circles and were headed back to our place. Pretending that this was his plan all along he then decided to head to Hahndorf for lunch and a look around the main street. On the way home he stopped at Mt Lofty where he gave our daughter a little purple box to carry. When we got to the look out he told Alyssia to undo the silver ribbon and give mummy her present. Inside was my engagement ring. At this time he proposed while my daughter kept repeating yes mum, yes mum, yes mum. It was so cute, I broke down into tears and of course I said yes.

Greg and I had been shopping around for an engagement ring for about a month. They were all beautiful rings but none of them was really what I liked. A few weeks later Greg came home from work, he said to me that he had a surprise for me. Well….I got extremely excited after he said that because I knew what would be coming. Greg went outside and a few minutes later he was back. He reached into his pocket and handed me a receipt. I read it and he had put a dryer on lay by for me at retravision hahaha. Not what I was expecting but I was happy because I had been wanting a dryer for a long time (mind you i still don’t own one!) Then a few minutes later after everyone had left I was in the lounge room watching tv. Greg came in knelt in front of me and pulled out a box from his pocket. Will you marry me?? He said. I was shocked!! I said yes straight away and through the tears of joy I asked him about the dryer. “Nah I didn’t get ya one I knew that you’d be expecting the ring so I tricked ya so it would still be a surprise when I did propose” It was definitely a surprise!! And the ring he picked out was the one I had seen, but had not tried on my finger. It was a perfect fit, he chose it by himself

Seb and I have been going out for about 2 years, we moved in about 6 months before and we have had bad luck all year with family members dying and our first puppy getting sick and dying and my parents divorce going through. Nothing but a bad year, I thought it would never end. Then on Saturday the 22 of October Seb wanted to go for a walk along the Burns Beach cliffs and I wanted to go onto the beach instead and so we did. We were walking along and Seb said he had a surprise for me and made me turn around (i thought he was going to tickle me or something) then he said ok turn back now. I turned around and he had my engagement ring in a box and said will you marry me. I jumped down into the sand and said yes and he said while laughing get up so I can give you the ring then. Then we sat and watched the sun set. It was very perfect, I loved it. It turned this year into a great one.

Chris and I were dating for over 5 years. We were talking about getting married for some time and we kept discussing the right ring. After about a year of this, I got tired of waiting. We were out shopping one night and I purchased a male engagement ring. Later, I went to his parents house and showed them the ring and I asked his father if I could propose to his son. At home that night, I handed him the box and told him it was a pressant. When he opened it I asked him if he would marry me. He just looked at me with a confused look on his face. So I asked him again. His reply this time was ‘well, we’ve been together this long’ and I wasn’t happy with that answer. It wasn’t quite what I was after so I asked him again and he finally said ‘yes’. So finally, after three attempts, I got my answer. We spent the rest of the night talking about our wedding plans. We have now been engaged for a year and still not positive on the date of the wedding. All we figured out was the year.

Two months earlier I had just had my first child. We had moved in together and everything was going right except one thing ofcourse we weren’t engaged. Daniel came home with something i’d always wanted a treadmill, but that wasn’t all he purchased that day.. Jack was asleep in his cot and Daniel told me to go check on him I thought nothing of it and went into Jacks bedroom only to find a note right next to Jack saying “mummy will you marry daddy?” And a ring right next to that! Daniel came in and said so will you? And ofcourse i said yes!

It was a lazy Saturday morning, with no plans to do anything. I was having a long sleep in when Daniel woke me by suprise and said that he had thought of something we could do today. I was told to get dressed and ready to go out, as today we were going ring shopping!! And that was it, simple, but still romantic to me, and Daniel’s way to a tee.. and this way i got to choose my ring!

I was having a late breakfast with my best friend at our regular cafe (which was also the first place Jac and I had coffee). The waitress came up with an envelope addressed to me. I opened it and inside was a necklace with ‘i love you’ in all different languages and a letter. Jac had organised a ‘treasure hunt’ with clues on each new letter taking me to the next place. They meant something to us (first was the cafe). I then headed to a bar in the city, where I was greeted by the Fairy of Spring who toasted champagne, made balloon flowers and wished me all the magic of the fairies. I then went on to the place he asked me to be his girlfriend, before heading to the Collingwood Magpies training ground. Lastly I ended up at the Botanical Gardens, finding Jac with a Scrabble board in front of him (we LOVE playing). On it was ‘will you marry me’ and letters to spell either yes or no. Of course I wrote yes. Then the ring was presented. I could not stop giggling. And I mean COULD NOT STOP.

Greg and I went to see a couple bands perform in a pub in Adelaide. Greg is friends with one of the bands and organised with the lead singer to suprise me. He got up on the stage and called me up with him and proposed in front of a bunch of our friends and a heap of strangers. I couldn’t believe it. I had found his great grandmothers wedding ring a couple of days brefore and thought I had ruined his suprise but he still managed to make it really special. I didn’t expect it at all.
