Nicole & Joel
Victoria, Port Melbourne
Joel was invited to a Sales conference in Fiji, so we decided that we’d go to Fiji for 8 days before the conference started. It was our 1st holiday to Fiji and we were in heaven. We stayed for 5 nights at a 5 star resort and we thought life couldn’t get any better, boy, was I wrong. Joel had surprised me with a 2 night stay on a secluded Island called Tokoriki. This is an adults only island, which holds around 20 guests, yes, that’s right we had the whole island to ourselves, no tv, no radio, 1 phone for the whole island. It was amazing, we had a BURE that was beautiful, we had a beautiful room, a lap pool on our back doorstep, an outside shower, an outside day bed, then 10 steps away was the ocean. I have never experienced anything like this before in my life. We relaxed by the pool, snorkeled in the ocean, got massages, drank cocktails and enjoyed beautiful food. Guests would arrive onto the island via, helicopter, sea plan or catamaran, I didn’t think that life could get much better, until our last night, we were out for dinner at the only restaurant on the island, but we had been given a special table overlooking the beach and the ocean. We had just finished our meal, when Joel and I were talking about how amazing this whole holiday had been, when Joel got down on 1 knee and told me that the only thing that would make this holiday even better, was that if I would become his wife, I burst into tears, he cried along with me and the REST IS HISTORY….

Our engagement story is so romantic but cute. We have a three year old son, so phil organized for him to be babysat so we could go out for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. I found it odd he actually organized something but just went with it because it was a lovely idea. We went out for dinner, then went for a walk along the beach just talking in the dark with the building nearby giving us enough light to see each other. He stopped while we were walking and looked at me. He got down on one knee and smiled and said "bubba, will you marry me?". He was trying not to laugh but he said it so cute. He placed the gorgeous ring on my finger and we kissed as fire works filled the sky. it was beautiful!!!

We had been at stereosonic an outside festival all day. It was about 1am in the morning and we we’re walking back to the car along the Torrens river. The stars were out. It was a warm night and we could hear the river and the animals. We came up to the Weir and it looked like a cave with rocks but you had trees all around and you could just see the stars. It was magical. I looked at scott and smiled and said this is so perfect. and he said yeah. He got down on one knee and told me how in love he was with me and how he couldn’t imagine his life with anyone besides me and he asked if I would marry him. I of course said yes. It was the most perfect moment. Something I will never forget.

Scott is a Theatre Technician and on the 10th of May he was doing an event wrestling. In fact just before the break he walked out from behind the curtains and went into the ring. I always sit near the front of the audience. He got into the ring and called me up there. His words were just before we go on this break. There is something I would like to say. My name is Scott and I am the Tech on tonight and my partner is in the audience tonight and there is something I would like to say to her. He called me up there so I went into the ring and he said I love you so much and I never want to loose you. Will you marry me. I then started crying and said of coarse I will.

I was at a time that I was stressed from all the studying I was doing so Dom decided that he would take me to a Restaurant for the night. It was the 1st of August, he told me that "tonight there will be no talk of stress and school. We will just relax and have fun" in the car on the way to the venue which he had told me I realized we were going the wrong way, he insisted that we were and we had a fight about it. When we parked the car I told him we were to far from the restaurant and Dom just said we will walk till we get there. When I said for the 10th time that we were no where near the restaurant he stopped and asked one of the waiters at another restaurant where it was and I was right. It was down the very other end of the road we would have to drive to get there. This man then told us to come into this restaurant and he would give us free drinks so we did. Little did I know that Dom had actually booked this restaurant from the start. It was a very well to do restaurant and expensive but Dom told me to order anything that I wanted. When we had finished dinner we walked through a park to get back t the car. While in the Park Dom stopped and lent on a chair bench, he told me to sit down if I wanted because he just needed a rest. I remained standing. It was then that Dom got down on one knee and pulled out the ring and said "Amanda I have asked your Dad and he was happy with this. Would you marry me?" and put the ring on my finger. To top the day off it was raining that night so everything was wet including us at that point. Dom told me after that he had planned to bring me to the beach and propose on the pier but it was to cold and rainy and I would have known something was going on.

We went shopping to pick me a ring, and being very pregnant I had to get it up sized and they told us 3 to 4 weeks till we get it back which was very up setting because we had decided to be engaged before we went away. Anyway one night I rang my partner saying that our three year old little girl was going to stay at her Nans for the night would he like to go out for dinner? He said yes and that he would book some where. When he got home he wouldn’t tell me where and was all happy but I just put it down to being home from work. When we left we pulled up to the one place we had never gone out for dinner before which was a nice surprise. The food was great. I asked him if he had heard anything about the ring and he said it would be another 2 weeks. By then I was really down. I wanted my ring,
so while we were waiting for our meals I was looking out the window in my own little world when I felt something hit my hand. I looked down and saw a box just thrown at me. I smiled realizing what it was and opened it. With that he asked me to marry and put the ring on my finger. I held all my tears back and said yes. The people in the place all smiled. It was such a shock. I thought my ring wasn’t even in the same town. So it meant so much more that he had rushed home from work to see the jewelers cause they rang him earlier that day, just so he could ask me that night.

On Feb 14th 2007, I organized a romantic evening for valentines with my then amazing girlfriend who has since become my beautiful fiance. I got a new suit, organized a limousine, scattered rose petals on the floor of the limo and told her we were just going for a drive and a drink. We turned up at East Perth Railway Station and went on a romantic train journey with candlelit dinner and romantic music. I proposed to my woman whilst the violin player played us a tune and to my delight she said yes and made me the happiest man alive. I love her so much and the evening ended in a Beautiful Hotel room with candles and rose petals and the happiest groom to be.

Jeremy decided one morning that he wanted to go for a scenic drive with myself and our 16 month old daughter, Alyssia. We were driving for quite a while when he realized that we had gone around in circles and were headed back to our place. Pretending that this was his plan all along he then decided to head to Hahndorf for lunch and a look around the main street. On the way home he stopped at Mt Lofty where he gave our daughter a little purple box to carry. When we got to the look out he told Alyssia to undo the silver ribbon and give mummy her present. Inside was my engagement ring. At this time he proposed while my daughter kept repeating yes mum, yes mum, yes mum. It was so cute, I broke down into tears and of course I said yes.

Greg and I had been shopping around for an engagement ring for about a month. They were all beautiful rings but none of them was really what I liked. A few weeks later Greg came home from work, he said to me that he had a surprise for me. Well….I got extremely excited after he said that because I knew what would be coming. Greg went outside and a few minutes later he was back. He reached into his pocket and handed me a receipt. I read it and he had put a dryer on lay by for me at retravision hahaha. Not what I was expecting but I was happy because I had been wanting a dryer for a long time (mind you i still don’t own one!) Then a few minutes later after everyone had left I was in the lounge room watching tv. Greg came in knelt in front of me and pulled out a box from his pocket. Will you marry me?? He said. I was shocked!! I said yes straight away and through the tears of joy I asked him about the dryer. "Nah I didn’t get ya one I knew that you’d be expecting the ring so I tricked ya so it would still be a surprise when I did propose" It was definitely a surprise!! And the ring he picked out was one I had seen, but had not tried on my finger. It was a perfect fit, he chose it by himself
