We went out for dinner for my birthday and he said that my present would be here on Monday so he only had something small for me – which was a gorgeous wooden hanging frame. After dinner we went for a walk along the riverbank and he said “do you wanna sit down for a bit?” I had no idea what was going on and thought that he wasn’t feeling well cause he didn’t eat much of his dinner (which was unlike him!). So we sat down and I was trying to get my bearings on where things were when I turned around and he was down on his knee with the ring box opened and asked me. Of couse I said yes and then just as that happened, another couple walked passed and the man passed wind right in front of us! We both cracked up laughing and ended in tears of joy! What a great night – I was very shocked and did not expect it at all!! He then preceded to tell me that this was of course the present that was coming on Monday – I thought I was getting a camping toilet!!!! LOL

Phil and I were expecting a baby and I had just finished work at more than eight months pregnant. My first day off and phil’s suggested we go to the beach in our 4WD. When we got to the beach I got out my towel and planted myself on the beach with a girlie magazine. Phil wouldn’t come and sit down he was hovering around the car. I thought he was checkng it for damage because we had just hit a kangaroo on the road. He kept saying to me honey can you come and give me a hand, can you come here. I wasn’t getting up for anyone. Than a 4Wd bus load of foreign tourists pulled up close by and he started getting more and more agitated considering there was an entire beach the driver could have chosen anywhere to park. Eventually phil said to me honey, you’ve got to come here and see this, its really gross. So naturally I got up, with difficulty and went around to the back of the car. Phil dropped to one knee and I started screaming. I thought he had been bitten by something he thought was really gross. So being a nurse I was checkng him for puncture wounds and still screaming, totally missing my proposal and then I noticed phil was holding a ringbox with a shiny ring. Being pregnant and not thinking I started saying no and was trying to get him away from the car from the gross thing that had hurt him. Than the penny dropped and I realised I had been duped. Phil had even organised the champagne and nibblies and he had planned the day for a long while. after I gathered myself and of course said yes, we turned around to a busload of tourists who were staring and taking photographs of us. Maybe not the most romantic proposal, but it wasn’t from lack of trying on phil’s behalf. But it does make me smile at how funny the day was and how unique the experience was.

The way my fiancee proposed was very strange. It was about midnight on the 17th of march this year and we had just finished watching a movie and I was about to just get in the shower and he asked me to get him some cotten buds (it was the big johnson and johnson packs) and inside the pack was a ring box. Out of shock I dropped the cotten buds on the floor and the ring went flying across the room. I picked up the ring and couldnt stop laughing then my fiancee came in to the bathroom and asked me “what do u say” and I replied “what do u mean?” he just said “will u?” (meanwhile I continued laughing) I then said “what are you asking me” then he finally asked me if I would marry him. Of course I had to say yes after I got over the shock of it all. I think I laughed for about an hour after wards and all he could say was “you didnt even cry”. and thats my proposal story, pretty strange hey.

Well….
It was my 30th birthday and we were out for tea. This little kid did a poo near our table and no-one noticed…..Our meals came out and we could smell something but just thougth it was one of the meals….that smelt gross….. Then the cake came out and my girlfriend went to the toilet as she got up she grabbed her bag off the ground and dragged it somehow into the poo and when she got out of the toilet it was all on…. She told everyone and then we looked for it and found it told the waitress and she removed it as this was happening my lovely man stood up and said “now to put all shit a side…I would like to ask Gemma to marry me.” At this stage he was on his knee beside me….everyone was giggling and crying it was just a great proposal!! One no-one will ever forget!! Of course I said “YES”.
