In August 2004, Adam and I had been together for 8 months. A couple of friends of ours were in a band "Fallen Isis" and were playing in a pub in front of a hundred people, all their friends and family (however we only knew them!). After the band finished their playing, Adam got up on the stage and grabbed the microphone and said very quickly (obviously very nervous)"ladies and gentlemen can I please have your attention" he called me over with shaking hands, got down on one knee, in-front of a hundred people that we didn’t know, said "Hayley, I have loved from the day we first met and I would like to know….will you marry me?" I was 16 at the time and was about to faint myself, I replied very quietly "yes". No-body even knew that I had said yes until Adam jumped up, hugged me very tightly, spun me around and then kissed me!!! Then the manager in the pub walked over and told Adam that he could have all the free drinks he wanted for doing such a romantic thing…but Adam had to drive home, ha, ha, ha! And now almost 5 years later, we are getting married!!! I love him so much and I couldn’t possibly imagine spending my life with anyone else in the world. We have gone through so much together…cancer, 2 car crashes, finding out that we can’t have kids, it’s only right that we should get married… I guess you’d call it fate!
