South Australia, Balaklava

Greg and I went to see a couple bands perform in a pub in Adelaide. Greg is friends with one of the bands and organised with the lead singer to suprise me. He got up on the stage and called me up with him and proposed in front of a bunch of our friends and a heap of strangers. I couldn’t believe it. I had found his great grandmothers wedding ring a couple of days brefore and thought I had ruined his suprise but he still managed to make it really special. I didn’t expect it at all. :D

Queensland, Brisbane

We went out for dinner for my birthday and he said that my present would be here on Monday so he only had something small for me – which was a gorgeous wooden hanging frame. After dinner we went for a walk along the riverbank and he said “do you wanna sit down for a bit?” I had no idea what was going on and thought that he wasn’t feeling well cause he didn’t eat much of his dinner (which was unlike him!). So we sat down and I was trying to get my bearings on where things were when I turned around and he was down on his knee with the ring box opened and asked me. Of couse I said yes and then just as that happened, another couple walked passed and the man passed wind right in front of us! We both cracked up laughing and ended in tears of joy! What a great night – I was very shocked and did not expect it at all!! He then preceded to tell me that this was of course the present that was coming on Monday – I thought I was getting a camping toilet!!!! LOL

Queensland, Wivenhoe Pocket

It was a normal saturday morning at our home.  I had to take my puppies to the vet.  When I got home, outside, on the verandah, I could hear music playing and there was a massive seafood feast awaiting me with a chilled bottle of bubbly.

Rahim came out and told me to take a seat, and we both sat down and had a beautiful meal whilst watching the sunset.  We have just bought a large block of land and it was very serene to sit and watch the sun go down in the comfort of our new home.

Rahim was saying the most beautiful thngs to me!!  After we had eaten ALL the seafood, I went inside where Rahim had ran me a beautiful candle lit bath.  (i still hadnt clicked as to what was going on!!)  He told me to relax and brought me another glass of champas.  It was so great.  I sat in the bath for ages thinking about how special he had made me feel.  Once I got out of the bath, he took me to our dining room, where he had made me a really beautiful dinner.

At the end of the table was a large box with a ribbon around it (it was now that my heart started to pound!!)

He asked me to open the box, inside was another box, then another box, then, another etc, till I had opened about 7 boxes!!!  I was giggling and crying at the same time – amazing emotion!  At the last box there was a beautiful diamond ring.  He got down on his knee and asked me to marry him!

It was so lovely.  Funny part is, amongst all of this going on - I still hadnt got dressed form my bath!!!!  That made us laugh for ages – and still does!

Our engagement story, well be had been together for about 6 months and madley in-love, We had been out shopping and bought our rings, and my partner got the courage up to ask my parents, and of course they said yes.We were lying in bed one night and Ian was acting real weird like nervous I had no idea what he was up to. He got up out of bed and said he was going to the toilet and next minute he looked at me with nervous eyes and said will you marry me??? At first I was shocked then I said I thought you would never ask we laughed and then I said YES I will, we have been together for for 1year and 8months and we have a six month old beautiful baby boy named Mason.

We love each other so much and we will be together for ever and ever. Thanks for listening to my story.

NSW, Kellyville

We were lying in bed and Raph rolled over and whispered in my ear “marry me”. I hit him and said to not joke about something like that. He then said he wasnt joking and again said “marry me”. I cried and then we cuddled all night. Then next morning he woke me up early and took me out for breakfast at this little cafe we always went too. We then went and picked out rings together, we found one that was made for us, it was perfect, so he bought it on the spot. We took a two hour drive together, down to a secluded area near the river where we had a picnic (one of my favourite things to do) and that is where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and gave me the ring. We had a lovely lunch and once we were full we drove home to tell both of our parents. It was the most amazing day of my life and I was spoilt by how fantastic the day was and how amazing Raph was. Just to add in something, although it was a big suprise, he had already asked my mum and brother, whom I am very close to for permission two weeks earlier.
